Course Description
Classroom Guitar is an elective course in which students will study the fundamentals of theory, performance, improvisation, and analysis. Emphasis is given to reading standard music notation and tablature. The curriculum includes both pick style and finger style approaches to the guitar through a variety of written and aural exercises in the styles of rock & roll, folk, country, blues, and classical music. Solo and ensemble performance in the classroom is required. Students pay a $10 fee to purchase the textbook, which they may keep at the end of the semester.
