Grading & Late Work Policy

The WASHS administrative team has set the following grading and late work policy.  This is how it applies to my specific classes.  If you have questions, please email me!

Grading Policy
Homework - 10% - typical assignments are short, may be worth 10 points and are for students to work on away from class.
Classwork - 20% - assignments given in class, typically finished in class, worksheets etc.
Quizzes, Labs & Projects - 30% - these are formative assessments where students are assessed on their knowledge.  These typically take more than one period to complete and usually have a specific grading rubric or correct answer.
Tests - 40% - chapter or unit tests, midterm & final exam, culminating projects, or laboratory practicals. Again, these will be graded for correctness and have specific rubrics where appropriate.

Late Work Policy
Students may choose to turn in work up to 2 days late on any assignments except homework to earn a maximum of 50% of that assignments worth.  After that 2 days has elapsed, students will earn zero points.

Students who are absent from class will be given 2 days for every missed school day to turn in work for full credit.  This does not apply to students who have cut class.
