Health Service Updates

 Helpful information for parents/guardians:

Possible reasons children will be sent home from school: Undiagnosed rash, fever >100, pink eye, head lice or nits, reportable illnesses (i.e. measles/chicken pox)

Please be sure to complete a new Emergency Card for your child every year so we have the most up to date medical and contact information for your child.  In addition, if your contact info changes throughout the course of the school year please call to update this information.

There is a form that must be filled out by a physician AND parent if your son/daughter needs to take a daily medication in school (see medication administration tab for more info)

When to keep your child home: if they have a fever (should be fever free for 24 hours), vomiting, diarrhea, lice, pink eye

Lice: if one child in the class has head lice the whole class will be checked and letter will be sent home to notify you of this

Incontinence: If your child has frequent accidents you may keep a change of clothes in their backpack or in the nurse's office

All K, 6th & 11th grade students are required by PA School Health Law to have a physical examination completed by a doctor.  A completed 11th grade physical must be on file in my office in order for students to participate in senior privilege activities during their senior year. In addition, students will not be permitted to purchase a parking pass, homecoming ticket or prom ticket until this obligation is fulfilled. Sports physicals or a copy of junior driver's licenses are also acceptable.
